Each application method has a different removal process so here’s our quick guide for you:
Can the hair extensions air dry naturally?
When the proper application procedures are followed, the keratin bond is completely sealed. You will be able to blow dry or let your hair extensions dry naturally.
If they are taking medications, will that affect their hair extensions?
If one of the side effects of their medication is excessive hair loss or increased shedding, then they will lose more because of their own hair shedding. Medications in no way affect the hair extensions themselves.
Is Remi Cachet® human hair?
Yes, our hair extensions are hand selected, 100% Remy human hair, meaning the cuticles are intact and the cuticles are all facing the same direction this will avoid matting or tangling. All of our hair extensions are Double Drawn creating more fullness at the end.
How long do the extensions last?
Tape ins 8 to 10 weeks varying on the client’s hair growth. They can be reapplied 3 to 4 times depending on clients hair care. Fusion 4 to 6 months varying on the client’s hair growth. We recommend using a new set after removal.
What products can be used in the hair?
We recommend that clients use the Remi Cachet® product line. It is formulated specifically for processed hair and extensions. Heavy conditioners are not to be applied at the scalp, or adhesive bands and bonds, but rather from mid shaft to end. Remind the client to rinse longer than usual and preferably in sections, to ensure there is no product left in the hair or on the scalp. Avoid products containing sulfate, alcohol, oil or ethanol. Do not wash your hair more than 3 times a week, when washing your hair, do not massage or twist hair. Please keep in mind, using the wrong products in the extensions voids their warranty.
Can I color the hair extensions?
If you are unable to blend to create your desired shade you can deposit color down two- three levels. We do not recommend that you lighten the extensions. In the process of applying color, keep all color away from the adhesive bands or bonds. If you decide to deposit color to create your desired shade, it is recommended that you wait 24 to 48 hours from the time of application to allow the adhesive band to seal firmly. Please keep in mind, coloring the extensions voids their warranty.
Can roots be retouched while wearing the extensions?
Yes, roots can be retouched, keeping in mind to stay away from the adhesive bands or bonds. It is recommended that roots be done 24 to 48 hours prior to application. If roots need to be done between extension services and there is enough new growth to keep the color off of the bands, we suggest doing a partial retouch along with the hairline. Keep in mind, chemicals in the hair can compromise the adhesive bands or bonds.
Can I swim or exercise?
Yes, if swimming, coat your hair thoroughly with a mixture of water and conditioner and tie back to help prevent the chlorine and sea water from effecting you hair. Wash thoroughly afterwards and apply a generous amount of conditioner. Hair extensions can be affected by chlorinated water, hard water with a high mineral content, sun and products that come in contact with the hair containing Avobenzone such as sun screens. When exercising hair must be worn up or in a ponytail. Be sure to wash hair after working out, as well as brushing before and after exercising.
After removal, always wash & brush your hair thoroughly to remove any residue from the products.
